Mandala Workshop
Creating a Pure World

Gen Kelsang Rinzin

Taught by Gen Kelsang Rinzin

Saturday, November 3
1:00 to 5:00 pm (see below for details)

"Mandala" means pure world. Generally, everyone wants to live in a more pure world, a world without pain, without problems, without sickness, without famine, without war - a world where everyone is peaceful, harmonious, joyful and wonderful. The practice of mandalas helps us to accomplish this.

Could our world be a mandala, a pure world? Yes! A pure world is the result of pure actions. Since all actions begin in the mind, ultimately our mind(s) are the creators of our world. It all begins in our mind.

There are four ways to accomplish a mandala:

  1. Through concentration alone
  2. In dependence upon a line drawing or painting
  3. In dependence upon a sand drawing
  4. In dependence upon the parts of a person's body (this requires more explanation and does not involve tattoos :-)

In this workshop, we will investigate the relationship between our mind and the world we create, and learn to create mandalas through concentration. This is a tremendous way to increase our positive mental energy and good karma, and to abide in an actual pure world mandala in the future.

Based on the Oral Instructions of Mahamudra.
